we are embedded text, subconscious efforts to survive at all cost

we are hardwired into sinews, catching the shrapnel of dreams

we are poverty, a language without possessive pronouns

we are wildlife, preserved, stuffed, and mantled

we are finishing everything on your plate, waste not

we are organized soul retrieval

we are top-down anger management

we are resorting to all-inclusive accommodations

we are a regional increase in complicated ideas

we are renewable resources, untapped consumerism

we are functional caloric intake, a grain of rice

we are the default setting, silent judgement

we are accused of treason, it’s true

we are additional pressure to your heart and lungs

we are the letter of the law, dictators of ocean and sky

we are the rules, the skin of biopolitics stretched over battle drums

we are on autopilot, offending the sensibilities of others

we are an untimely event horizon spinning a million regrets

we are more than the sum of our parts
