Smokers like him
They make love to their cigarettes
Teasing the smoke that rises from gathered fingertips
Prolong the first inhale, sigh with satisfaction
Working his way up to the climax
The final drag and then—release
He will walk away satiated, his desire fulfilled for now
Leaving only in his wake a breadcrumb trail of cigarettes,
the remains of a one night stand
