"from GRAMTAN" Booklet by Jason Ly
"from GRAMTAN" Booklet by Jason Ly
Four visual poems from GRAMTAN by Jason Ly, a series that explores new and old solutions to the classic tangram puzzle by allowing pieces to intersect and overlap. Ly uses the triangular tangram pieces to create familiar objects and abstract shapes by circumventing the traditional limitations on their arrangement. The Blasted Tree has produced a limited edition of fifty 4” x 4” booklets hand-bound into grey cardstock covers with black thread.

In an era dominated by new forms of digital media, The Blasted Tree continues to value the art of book- and print ephemera-making. We think there’s something special about the feeling of holding a literary text in physical form, so we’ve committed to producing high-quality print editions of groundbreaking Canadian and international writing and visual art. Most of The Blasted Tree’s content is available for free on our website; our hope is that if you enjoy what you encounter online you might purchase a copy in print, or even subscribe and receive one of everything we produce in a year. What better way to support an independent press than by buying an artfully crafted print publication or subscription!?
