Michael Smilovitch is working in neuroscience – a field he finds to have many under-appreciated poetic qualities. Nonetheless, he will be taking some time off in 2017 to focus on writing. Michael spends his extra time singing and shouting in the vaguely Progressive Metal band, Bird Problems. They perform around Montreal from time to time. He is also quite fond of soup.
