Spring

I’m trying to touch my boundaries, to find power, to reclaim the strings that tether me to people and things, but it’s you there when I wake up in the morning. “I cry because I am miserable.” I cry because it’s become noticeable how “entrapping judgement is.” I cry because this week has been “a series of unfortunate events.” I keep going back to the places I’ve been before (adoration, mystery, fear, a door), trying too hard, falling back to find help. It’s 9 o’clock, and I can’t breathe. Food, sex, and sage: I wish I could give up on this black hole trying to thrive inside my stomach and just confess: you’ve been a shore for me to break upon.
